Hudson was settled in 1799 by David Hudson on land that was known as the Connecticut Western Reserve. Here you’ll find architectural styles from New England, including Federal, Greek Revival, Victorian, Italianate, and Colonial style homes built on a traditional “village green” plan.
This charming city is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is home to more than 50 retail and specialty shops and more than 40 restaurants that draw diners from both Cleveland and Akron. First & Main, and Historic Main Street are shopping areas in the center of town.
Hudson offers its residents 20 city parks, a public golf course and two private Country Clubs. The city borders the Cuyahoga Valley National Park with miles of bike and hike trails, nature programs, Brandywine Ski Resort and the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.
Besides having outstanding schools, Hudson is within driving distance of 24 colleges and universities – the second largest concentration of educational resources in the United States. Some 68 percent of Hudson adults have at least a bachelor’s degree.
